I don't really have much to blog about. In fact this may end up being more of a "vent" so here goes...
Does anyone else feel like they are constantly cleaning house??? Granted I have a house full of boys, I don't expect our home to look like it should be in a magazine but GEEZ i feel like I am constantly picking up after someone, sweeping, vacuuming or doing dishes. Do any of you have any tricks to not feeling so overwhelmed with housework? I have been trying to split things up throughout the week but I think that makes me feel like I am doing even more. I used to have a Saturday morning routine of cleaning the whole house which I still do to some extent, I am just too tired to do the WHOLE house now and it seems like it doesn't do any good. I guess that is what i get having two dogs, a baby and a husband huh? We have hardwood and tile floors and I hate them! Does anyone know how to keep them clean? Everything I have tried on the wood leaves a dull film on it. I am getting really worried now that Boston is about to become mobile. I'm not a germ a phobe by any means but I would rather my child not roll around in dust all the time. Don't get me wrong, i am very thankful to have our home. I don't want to come across ungrateful.
How often do you clean house or what is your routine?
On a more positive note, Boston is feeling much better and we have been snot free for a few days now! It is so good to have my happy little boy back. However, there has been a confirmed case of H1N1 in his daycare so I guess that is bound to hit us next. I am calling the Dr today to see when we can get in to get a shot. I am still iffy on this vaccine because it is so new but we have to do it anyway.
I can't believe Boston will be 8 months old this weekend!
We got our new furniture last week and we LOVE it! I will post pictures once I have everything "put together". I'm having a hard time deciding on some things like accessories (imagine that)!
That's all for now, I'm off to put B down for a nap and clean out my closet! Mama needs some new threads, but that is a whole other post!
Hope everyone has a good rest of the week!

Oh geez! I definitely feel like I'm cleaning (if not JUST cleaning UP) all day long. Half of the time, I make a bigger mess, trying to sort something out.
My "routine" is daily. I have gotten much better about wiping down the counters after each meal (for quick maintanence) and now that Jax is throwing his food on the floor - I am definitely wiping the kitchen floors after each meal (just in his messy area). I vacuum usually 2-3 times weekly. But I don't keep a specific chore "chart" for certain days. Then I would feel like I had to abide to someone else's rules/schedule. I just do what I feel that day! But the clutter will only be gone for an afternoon before it starts collecting again :)
We at least have mainly carpet, I don't think i would the cleaning for hard floors either. I don't have any advice there, sorry! A swiffer? Does that a residue?
Jax goes in for his 1 yr apt. next month and will get his normal flu shot. But I don't about the H1N1 yet, I also am a little iffy about that.
I feel your pain! I too have a home filled with hardwood and tile. Two Yellow labs and a cat makes for a very hairy floor! I love it but hate it. It's this crazy love/hate relationship I have with our floors. I usually clean house once a week. I clean the bathrooms, dust, vacuume, wash the tiled floors and mop the hardwood every Friday afternoon. We have a 2100 sqft house. Usually takes me about 4 hours. I used to work for my mom who owned her own cleaning business. When I clean my house I treat it as someone else's. I don't answer the phone, I don't organize and I don't do wash on a cleaning day. I strickly clean. I have a touch, Ok, I HAVE OCD so I'm very crazy about it. Most of my family and friends only clean house every two weeks. Which is the norm. Every 2 days I vacuume. We have a dishwasher. I usually let our dishwasher fill up before I run a cycle. We are lucky enough to have enough dishes that we can do that. I run it once a week. Usually every Sunday night after dinner. Instead of pulling the dishes out when they are done washing and drying them by hand, I prop the dishwasher door open and let them air dry over night. By morning they are all dry and ready to be put away. To save time, I usually put them away Monday while I make dinner. I'm already in the kitchen so why not?!! Simple and guick. As for the bathrooms, I keep Clorox wipes under our sinks and when I see the bathrooms need a "freshening up" I whip out a wipe, wipe things down and ta-da! An in between cleaning cleaning...made easy!
I would love to have a daily routine but my honey would seriously go insane with my OCD.
GOOD LUCK!
Oh you aren't the only one!! I don't know how our house gets soo "untidy" and how we have so much laundry with just 3 of us!! I stay at home and I swear I am cleaning every day!!! Usually.. I tak eone day thru the week that I deep clean.. like vaccum, dust, mop, etc. Then on the other days I tidy every day. The job is never done!! But my messy husband doesn't help:)
Congrats Courtney! Come on over to A Piece of Pope-YOU WON!!!
