Goodbye 2010

2010...
You have been a very good year for us! So many memories and milestones this year and i couldn't have asked for anything better! Absolutely nothing BAD comes to mind when I think of this past year and what it has brought our family.
I go into 2011 with a happy heart and look forward to what blessings this year will bring.  I have a feeling its going to be even better!

As for the Burton household, we will be snuggled up at home as a family, having a sparkling grape juice toast and watching the ball drop on TV.  I wouldn't have it any other way!

Christmas 2010

We are so blessed and had a wonderful Christmas this year filled with food, family, and love.  It looks like a Christmas bomb went off in our house and its time to clean up and clean out room for all of the stuff we accumulated!  It is definitely going to take a few days to recooperate around here! 

I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and celebrated the Real reason for the Season!

Christmas was so much more fun this year even though he still doesn't "get it". 

I'm sure next year will be even better :)

Santa Visit 2010

We braved the crowds yesterday just to take B to see Santa. I knew what the outcome would be, and was not looking forward to this adventure!  But we felt like bad parents if we didn't take him. The line was nuts when we arrived at 11:30 and Santa went on break at 1:00.  We just knew as soon as we got to the front of the line, Santa would go to lunch so we decided to leave and come back. SO glad we did! When we returned at 1:45 the people who were in front of us the first time were at the front of the line and were waiting on Santa to come back!  Needless to say we made the right decision :)

We waited a little over an hour and B did so good while we waited!  

He seemed excited to see Santa and watched curiously as the other kids sat in his lap.

However, this is the outcome when we finally got to Santa....

Poor B. Not a fan of Santa this year, ha!

Christmas Craziness-22 months

Yesterday B turned 22 months old!  I have to get started planning his birthday party! This time last year I already had a theme and everything figured out. He has grown so much in the past month!

Tomorrow is a big day for us!  B will be dedicated at church, then we are going to see Santa!

Update (full timer)

I have been such a bad blogger!  No pictures this time either...

For the next week and a half I will be a full time working mom again.  Call me crazy! It's certifiable!

I agreed when leaving my job that i would come back on an as needed basis to help out until they decide to hire someone.  Well there is a big government design job going out on December 15th.  They have a ridiculous amount of requirements when designing a job.  I mean 9 copies of everything including color boards!  Seriously!?!  So, you probably won't hear from me for the next few days.  Actually, I may be writing to you from the nut house where I will have checked myself in due to stress and exhaustion...

On top of the day job, I have 16 canvases and 2 chairs to finish painting before Christmas!  AHHHHH!

God give me patience and motivation and the ability to just say NO! :)

Meet Eddie

This year we started the "Elf on A Shelf" tradition in our home.  

We named him Eddie after cousin Eddie in Christmas Vacation!

He is pretty creepy looking but Boston seems to like him.

Fall Photo Shoot

My college roomie and BFF Melissa is a budding photographer.  A few weeks ago she did some "mini" sessions for family and friends, so we jumped at the chance to get some updated photos!

B was not cooperating that day, but I think she captured some great shots!

First Obsession-besides the paci

His name is Nemo.

We got him this stuffed clown fish last year at the Houston zoo. At the time he was really too little to care much about it so I put it up in the top of his closet with numerous other stuffed animals.  He has been loving Finding Nemo movie lately so we got it down last night.  He HAD to sleep with it and has carried it around all morning saying "Nemo, Nemo, Nemo" giving it love and kisses! So cute!

Our Weekend

We had a great weekend!  Saturday we rearranged Boston's room, took all of his toys out of the living room to make room for the Christmas tree, and made his crib into a toddler bed!  I'm am sad about this, but the transition hasn't been a problem yet.  He stayed in it all night last night :)

Today we went with Amanda and Georgia to our friend Paxton's 2nd birthday party.

 It's hard to believe we will be having B's 2nd birthday party in 3 months!

I have been totally losing track of what day it is.  It is so different when you don't have to live life by a calendar or appointments.  I tend not to know the date so I didn't realize the 10th has come and gone and B turned 21 months old this past week!
