Blakely is 6 months old!

How can it be?!?!?

You are our happy little girl!  I can't believe you have been with us for 6 months!  You are growing like a weed :) You still wear 3-6 month clothes and I bet you are around 13lbs.  You are in a size 2 diaper.  You love solid foods!  Everything except the green ones (I don't blame you). But we will keep trying with those. You always have a fruit or oatmeal mix in the morning and a veggie at night with sometimes a little fruit if you are still hungry.  I then give you a bottle around 7:00. I am still breastfeeding and 6 months was my goal, however I am feeling guilty and may continue to breastfeed.  I'm torn... I have already given her formula, she usually gets one bottle of formula a day, at least.  I know breastfeeding is what is best but selfishly I'm ready to get my hormones back in order as well as my body.  I breastfed Boston for a little over 6 months and quit when he started biting.  So we'll see how it goes...

You are always so happy!  You started sleeping in your crib about 2 weeks ago and have done pretty well with it!  There are nights when you wake around 1:30 or 3:00 and I bring you to our room.  Boston is usually already in our room by that time as well.  You have been waking earlier since we put you down earlier now.  You are usually up around 7 then sometimes catnap in the morning. You usually take one long nap a day (around 11am) then catnap in the afternoon too.

I have established a new bedtime routine for the both of you and it has helped me wonders!  I used to take you to bed with me around 11:00. Boston's bedtime has always been 8-8:30.  But it became impossible to handle both at this time so I have started putting Blake down at about 7:30 for the night. Then starting on Boston.  It has helped SO much, especially with Kyle gone so much.  This week has been thrown off because Boston has been sick, but hopefully we will get back on track soon. 

You LOVE your big brother and light up when he comes in the room!  You can't wait to be mobile and play with him i can tell!  You have rolled over a few times and can sit up by yourself for about a minute.  You love the bumbo and your jumperoo.  You still aren't fond of being on your tummy so I'm wondering if you will ever crawl, but just start walking!  You love to stand and your legs are so strong!

Our 6 month visit isn't until March so I will update on stats then. 

I am so thankful for you little lady bug!  You are mommas girl and best friend already! You bring so much joy to our lives!  Happy 6 months sweet pea!

4 month check up at 5.5 months old

We had to miss our 4 month appointment back in early December due to weather.  The earliest we could get rescheduled was January 13th.  

Here are her stats:

Height: 23.75" (6%)

Weight: 12lbs 2 oz (3%)

Head: 16.5" (46%)

She is very small for her age but she is growing right along the curve just fine!  She checked out perfect!

Our next appointment (6 month) is the first week of March.

We have been having issues when I leave Blakely with her daddy, she screams constantly.  Whether or not I'm gone 30 minutes to an hour.  I can't go to the grocery store without Kyle calling asking me to hurry up and get home.  I talked to the pediatrician about this because she hasn't done this for anyone else we have left her with.  He said it could be that she is mirroring his feelings/emotions.  So when she gets upset, he gets stressed out and upset and she senses that and gets even more upset.  Has anyone had this kind of experience with their kiddos?  This even occurs when i put Boston to bed every night and she is left with him.

I actually left her for the first time overnight last weekend!  Mom came to the house and stayed while we went to the Cotton Bowl.  She did great!  It was so good to get a break and get away!  It's a lot different this time around.  I didn't leave Boston overnight until he was well over a year old, but this time mama was due for a break! I will do a separate post on the Cotton Bowl.
