Blakely-5 months

we have a thumb sucker!
 look at those legs!

5 months!  Really?!?  How can it be????  I was just at the same hospital that you were born last night. It brought back memories!  My BFF Melissa had baby Cooper on Wednesday and he is SO sweet!  Kinda makes me want another one, ha!  They were in the same room as we were with Blakely too!
I'm not even believing how fast time is going by.

You are in 3 month and 3-6 month clothing and size 1 diapers.  We will be moving to size 2 soon i'm sure.
We started rice cereal a couple of weeks ago and you weren't too fond of it so we tried oatmeal and you like it! Just like your brother!  Two nights ago we tried sweet potatoes and you loved them!  Up until then you have been exclusively breastfed.  However, i have had to give you formula the last couple of days.  I just can't make enough to keep up!  You are either hitting a growth sprurt or just now eating what a typical 5 month old would.  I was still feeding you 4 oz every 3-4 hours but yesterday you took 7oz of formula no problem!  So I have started pumping more hoping to increase my supply and storage.  We will be leaving you for the first time overnight next weekend!
You aren't rolling over but you hate being on your tummy.  You are almost rolling over but get stuck on your arm.  You seem to get bored easily. So I'm constantly moving you around from one place to another.  Santa brought you a jumperoo and I think once your feet can touch the ground you will really love it!  You love to stand up in my lap and bounce.  You are still in the pack and play in our room. We plan to make the transition to crib next month.  You had been sleeping in your boppy/bouncy seat and I just now got you to sleep flat, but you don't sleep as well that way.  You still sleep through the night for the most part and take either one real good nap a day or a few cat naps throughout the day.  I think you will be sitting up on your own very soon as well!  You still ADORE your brother and light up whenever he pays you attention or comes into the room.  You are still a mommas girl! :)

We love you so much!!!!

These days I take almost all of my photos with my Iphone/Instagram app.  Its so much easier than carrying around the big camera and i always have my phone near.  So here is what has been going on in our life the past few weeks...

Pinterest Project #3 & 1st Christmas comparisons

I got this idea from the Pinterest website.  I have so many ideas/projects to do now!
I'm not a photographer at all, but I do have a semi-fancy camera and would like to learn how to use it better :)  Ive only had it for 3 years :/ but there is so much to learn about lighting, techniques, editing, etc.and I  barely remember to put shoes on Boston these days!
We experimented today for a bit and maybe I can try it again another day.  She kept spitting up!  I also want to try a Christmas light picture with Boston. That should be interesting...

I also need to figure out my Lightroom photo editing software more...Ive only had it for 2 years :/

I think this one is my favorite!
And here is Boston on his first Christmas.  He was 10 months old

On a completely different subject, we had to miss Blake's 4 month appointment on Wednesday because it snowed the night before a teeny bit and traffic was gridlock getting into town.  We can't get back in until Jan 13th! She will be 5 1/2 months old!  And I have completely forgotten what we did with Boston.  I know its time for her to start solids, but do we have to do rice cereal or can we go straight to veggies? And how much?
Ive read that Rice cereal has no nutritional value so whats the point?
And don't they usually have a 6 month check up?  I just need to call the Dr office.
I did weigh her on our scale and baby girl is 11 pounds!
